Shadowbox Cards

Here are my newest Shadowbox cards. Below are the first ones I made.

On my scrapbooking messageboard, we were talking about a new die release and how we could make a similar card to the sample made with the new dies. I adore Lawn Fawn and have many LF dies and stamps.  I prefer paper pieced like Karen Burniston does the best. Lawn Fawns new ShadowBox die is too small for me. So I used the square set of Lawn Fawn Stitched Insideout dies for the window. Used a Karen B banner die similar to the LF one. Had just gotten some plaid paper somewhat resembling the sample and finally found a pale blue that coordinated. The oval ice fishing hole is cut with a very old QK oval die and hand colored to give it dimension.
Below for the rest of the instructions.

I had to cut down the Sizzix Doll fishing pole. Did ok but I loved this and want to make many more but didn't really want the LF set, I have many other LF sets I want more. Plus, I wanted a die fishing pole, not a stamp & die fishing pole.

I looked and looked and finally found this Taylored Expressions fishing pole that was just the perfect size AND came with a fish! It cuts in the other direction from my original card. Would look ok on the back side but I wanted the best side forward so I switched. My next thing is to make this with the Penguin that comes in the set with the Bear and Hedgehog.
This oval was cut with a Karen B die and also hand colored for dimension. Bucket is Impression Obsession.

On card above,  Lawn Fawn wave slits, celebrate with Karen B hill & cloud bank above.

Card below is LF grass, hill. Fishhook is old QK die.

*****First ShadowBox cards I did.
Here are several versions of the same card. I had fun figuring out what size I needed to keep it an A2 and use the dies I already had.

  1. Lovely! Cute to do them animal themed. I have been playing with shadow box measurements too! I posted one to my blog but I have since refined them to have more depth and did an A2 version as well.
