Here are some of my latest Popup Box Cards. Below this batch of cards, you'll see the directions and dimensions to cut out some for yourself.
My new sewing box. Oops, forgot to add the "buttons" to it.
Here is my newest design. I wanted a box so that I could use the window. I was googling and found something folded similar to this and figured out the dimensions I needed and got to work!
It does fold flat into a 5x7 inch card,
I just put these two sentiments against the grass just to see how it would look. I'm not going to glue anything on until I either have more cards made or someone buys the card and tells me what they want.
Available in the same style are:
happy birthday to you
thinking of you
get well soon
thank you
thanks
celebrate
congratulations
happy valentines day
i love you
hugs
hello
happy mothers day
happy fathers day
merry christmas
let it snow
I can also glue other sentiments to the walls of the house.
My newest fun way to make cards is the pop up box card. The place I usually buy Lawn Fawn but the place I usually get them from has been out of the die from day one. So I went to Split Coast Stampers and found a tutorial and video about how to make them. They had directions for a bigger version than I wanted, I needed them to fit an A2 envelope. They had dimensions for making an A2 horizontal and landscape so I followed the directions and used the smaller size.
The first one seemed complicated but after that, it got easier and easier. I did a template on both and used a marker to note what size to cut and where to crease, etc. Best thing I did. Later, I realized that my Technique Tuesday Straight Talk type dies are perfect to use in the layers as well as my Karen Burniston Western Edge Horses. But the dimensions I was using were too narrow except for a few. So, instead of a square box, I made it more rectangle like Lawn Fawn. Made a template for that also.
Here is my rectangle card closed, also known as the wide card:
Here it is popped open! The bad thing is the shadow behind the horses. I didn't have time to do a nice natural light picture, had to get it in the mail! The box on this one is 3-1/2 inches wide and 2 inches deep.
This is the template for the card above.
Cardstock is cut 11 inches by 4-1/4 inches.
Inside strips will be 3-1/2 inches wide with a score on each side. I cut 4-1/2 inch strips and score 1/2 inch on each side.
Crease/score card base at 3-1/2 inches, 5-1/2 inches, 9 inches and 11 inches.
Turn clockwise and score/crease at 2 inches.
Cut on the dotted lines. Attach tab inside the piece. I prefer Aleenes Acid Free or any Aleenes glue because it is a very strong adhesive but gives you time to move it around in the correct spot. I fold it back and forth to make sure everything lines up.
Apply adhesive to the end tabs of the inside strips, and adhere them to the inside of the opened box, aligning them with the top of the opening. Turning both tabs toward the outside front or back of the box will help ensure straight placement.
Close the box in both directions and secure the score lines to ensure that it will lie flat for mailing.
This is one I made for a friend to send to her mother. She wanted her dog Howie on the card and here he is!
This is the card she saw when she ordered one with Howie. Unfortunately, I didn't take another picture after I added the tiny musical notes. I thought they added a lot to the card. I took it with me today to show a friend and her daughter bought it!
This is the template for the A2 short card
Cardstock is cut 12 inches by 4-1/4 inches.
Inside strips will be 2-3/4 inches wide with a score on each side. I cut 3-3/4 inch strips and score 1/2 inch on each side.
Crease/score card base at 2-3/4 inches, 5-1/2 inches, 8-1/4 inches and 11 inches.
Turn clockwise and score/crease at 2 inches.

This is the first one I finished and sent to a friend. Her name is actually on the finished one on the front panel. It was made from the directions directly above.
Here is the unfinished card and template for the tall A2 template. Haven't finished it yet, it was too narrow for what I planned and had to go to the other two wider versions.
Card base is 5-1/2 inches by 9-1/4 inches.
Crease at 2-1/8, 4-1/4, 6-3/4 and 8-1/2 inches. Turn once clockwise and score at 2-3/4 inches. Follow the directions off the above.
I've got a bunch more to finish and will post later. I need to cut out all my dog dies cut and painted so that I can add more than just Dachshunds.
