What I did with my Lawn Fawn Hillside Stitched Borders Die Set!

I won the Lawn Fawn Hillside Borders die set during a challenge my scrapbooking message board did on National Scrapbooking Day last month.

Here is what I did with some, the FIRST two are fairly normal and expected. I had fun finding out what other interesting things I could do with them! Thank you Alissa for everything but most especially for THIS die set!

 The running Dachshund is part of the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Dog Park die and stamp sets. He is one of my very very favorite Dachshund dies. I can't stand the "white" border but when I stamp it on "dachshund red" cardstock, for some reason, I don't mind the red cardstock outside the lines.

 "what a lucky dog" is part of my Some Odd Girl Preppy Dog stamp set.

I don't have the little tree die set LF has to coordinate with the hills but did have some little tree dies. But next time, maybe I should make sure they have tree trunks, they kind of look like upside down icicles here!

I just started cutting borders with my hillside dies, cutting here and there and this is what I came up with!

 I just started out with a quarter 8 1/2 x 11 page and this is what resulted! It kind of resembled a diploma unfolding, to ME at least! So, I decided to make this for a neighbor's son that was graduating. The dog is because they have a little red Dachshund mix and this was perfect!

Totally screwed up my sparkly highlights and had to just use the embossing pad all over the "water" to keep it from looking totally terrible!

Paper Smooches Stitched Lines and Roses Dies

I am now the proud owner of Paper Smooches Stitched Lines Dies and the beautiful Paper Smooches Roses Die sets. At the bottom of the page, I show all the card bases so that you can see all the different ways I used the Stitched Lines die set.

The word dies used on these cards are either Elizabeth Craft Designs or Die-Versions Wordlets (Anniversary) and the script Hello is Technique Tuesday.

 

The one above is BEFORE I added the insides below, not sure which one I love best!

I haven't glued the inside so not sure what will be the final card!

I love the way the lines turned out on this one!

This one has just the outline, like the stitched lines on this!

 This one, I added the roses.

 And this one, I added the leaves! All look great! You can't make a bad card with this die!

I wasn't sure where I was going with the stitched lines on this one but like where it wound up!

This is even pretty leaving it the way it came out of the die!

I really like the two small roses on this card.

Here are the card bases before I started. 
I used the Paper Smooches Stitched lines to create them. 

I used washi tape to hold them to the cardstock while running through my Big Shot.  I just stick the washi tape to my fingers a bit before using to cut down on just a little of the sticky. If you are careful when peeling the tape off, you shouldn't have any problem with it ripping a layer of paper off. I reuse until it is no longer sticky. Works great. 
I had fun coming up with all the ways to use the stitches.

On these, I actually ran them through both sides of the cardstock since this cardstock is thinner than I normally use AND it was easier this way. The bonus is, you have stitching on the INSIDE of the cards also.

Another Roses die. I would have done stitching but I knew it was smash the Spellbinders Fabric 3D embossed background too much. Happy Birthday is the smaller more script Elizabeth Craft Designs die. This picture showed the texture of the background the best but unfortunately, something in front of the flash caused a shadow.
